After spending few days in Tokyo it’s now time to go to our destination
This is where the JR pass is very useful, but before you ride the train make sure to go to the JR information area inside the station. You will see a big JR logo above and present your JR pass to the officer to give you a reservation seat number for the train. For every Shinkansen (Bullet train) ride and express train, a reservation seat ticket is needed because there are inspector inside the train that will check for the ticket. If you forgot to reserve for one then you will have to go the the unreserved cabin area but not all trains have it so it is best to be informed before taking their trains.
From Tokyo station you’ll have to ride the JR line going to Shinagawa station and from this station you will have to transfer to the Tokaido-Sanyo Shinkansen (Nozomi 99) train going straight to Kyoto station. It will take you around 3 hours to travel from Tokyo to Kyoto but don’t worry, along the way there are lots of beautiful scenery to view, like the famous Mt. Fujior Fuji-san. They even have the exact timings on what time the train will pass on Mt. fuji. Amazing!
